2M SPT supports Make and Scale Day
On Monday 14th September, 2M Sustainable Packaging Technologies took part in Make and Scale Day, hosted by the Henry Royce Institute and delivered by Puntios.
The event was designed to help advanced materials start-ups better understand how to move from lab-scale development towards commercial production, while giving them direct access to experienced manufacturing partners. The programme included practical discussions around manufacturing partnerships, intellectual property and contractual relationships, followed by speed networking.
Representing 2M Sustainable Packaging Technologies, James Nelson introduced the groups capabilities and experience alongside a number of other prominent manufacturing partners from the chemical industry. The afternoon networking session then gave start-ups the opportunity to discuss their individual technical and scale-up requirements directly with potential partners.
“There is a significant challenge with taking an idea from the lab to industrial scale and 2M are well placed to plug into this exciting new area of opportunity by leveraging our knowledge, skills and capabilities. The event was a great opportunity to identify start-ups who are keen to work with us and we have a number of exciting follow up engagements planned on the back of the event”.
Packaging challenges cannot be solved with a silver bullet solution so building a portfolio of capabilities to take to end clients is key for our future success and strategy.
